U.S. and Egypt Affirm: All Attempts to Divide Sudan Rejected
A phone call took place on Tuesday between Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, and the Senior U.S. Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, as part of ongoing coordination and consultations between Egypt and the United States across various fields, reflecting the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Regarding the situation in Sudan, both sides emphasized the importance of supporting Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, and maintaining continuous coordination within the framework of the International Quartet. They affirmed their complete rejection of any attempts aimed at dividing the country or undermining its stability.
Both officials also renewed their condemnation of the treacherous attack on the UN mission headquarters in Kadugli, expressing full solidarity with the Sudanese people during this critical period.
Minister Abdel-Aty affirmed Egypt’s full support for Sudanese national institutions, stressing the necessity of launching an effective humanitarian path to ensure the unhindered delivery of aid, alongside increasing relief assistance and enhancing cooperation with the United Nations, the African Union, and relief agencies.
He also emphasized the importance of regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive ceasefire, create conditions for a unified political process that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability, and development, and advance a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire to safeguard the unity of the Sudanese state and its national institutions.
