For the Second Day… RSF and SPLM-N (al-Hilu) Militias Attack Kadugli with Drones and Artillery

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF and SPLM-N (Al-Hilu) Militias renewed drone attacks on the city of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State in central Sudan, for a second consecutive day, field sources reported on Sunday.

According to the sources, the strikes were concentrated on the eastern parts of Kadugli, triggering widespread panic and fear among residents. The city is already facing dire conditions due to an ongoing siege, communications outages, and a complete lack of cash liquidity. Sources said cash withdrawals now incur deductions of up to 50 percent of the transferred amount.

Meanwhile, Kadugli came under heavy artillery shelling from early Sunday morning, significantly restricting civilian movement inside the city. Local sources told Al-Tara Sudan that more than five artillery shells landed in various neighborhoods. No civilian casualties were reported.

The shelling curtailed the movement of residents, particularly in areas that came under fire, the sources added.

Separately, military sources told Al-Tara Sudan that an RSF drone targeted the Medical Corps Hospital in the city of Al-Dalang, also in South Kordofan State. The sources further confirmed that satellite internet services provided via Starlink devices were suspended in several neighborhoods of the city during the past few hours.

The latest attack comes hours after a drone strike hit the United Nations mission headquarters in Kadugli, killing six Bangladeshi soldiers and injuring eight others. The wounded were evacuated by helicopter to receive medical treatment.
