Al-Burhan Receives Kiir Message, Orders Expanded Sudan–South Sudan Cooperation
Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), received a written message from South Sudanese President Salva Kiir on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation. The message was delivered during talks with a high-level South Sudanese delegation led by Tut Galuak, Presidential Advisor for Security Affairs.
Following the meeting, Al-Burhan directed Sudanese ministries and technical bodies to intensify coordination with South Sudan, prioritizing energy, oil, trade, and broader economic cooperation, alongside political engagement.
Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Maawia Osman Khalid said the talks underscored deep people-to-people ties and South Sudan’s supportive stance toward Sudan. South Sudanese Foreign Minister Mandi Simaya described the message as a reaffirmation of brotherly relations, noting agreement to hold technical and bilateral meetings to advance shared interests in oil, trade, and investment.
