Crackdown on Crime Dens in Khartoum Using Drones
A high-level security and police meeting, chaired by the Khartoum State Police, reviewed the security situation in the state, revealing a notable decline in crime rates in the capital. Acting Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Al-Tahir Al-Baloulah, inspected the Khartoum State Police Headquarters.
During his chairing of the police leadership meeting, Al-Baloulah praised the use of drone cameras in security cordon operations during joint campaigns to combat criminal activities across the state and directed for their expanded use. He emphasized that the reactivation of the Emergency and Rapid Response Centre represents a technical and professional advancement for the police, highlighting the importance of leveraging community efforts to support security operations.
Meanwhile, the security report confirmed the stability of the security and criminal situation in Khartoum, noting a significant reduction in crime rates due to cordons, joint campaigns, the removal of informal settlements, efforts to combat looting, regulation of foreign presence, and the elimination of negative social phenomena. The report also highlighted the activation of the Control and Command Centre, which deployed surveillance cameras in key areas of the capital, tightened control over crossings, and integrated them with the centre via communication systems.
