Washington Continues Pressure on Abu Dhabi to End Sudan War
The U.S. Department of State announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks with the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah bin Zayid Al-Nahyan, discussing joint efforts to achieve a humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan, enabling the protection of civilians and ensuring unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.
The U.S. President had previously promised the Saudi Crown Prince to personally intervene to stop the war in Sudan.
U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Beigout stated on Tuesday that the two ministers emphasized the importance of the strategic relationship between the United States and the UAE, affirming their commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation on regional and international issues of shared concern.
