Arab League Holds Intensive Consultations with UN for Humanitarian Ceasefire in Sudan

 

The Arab League announced that it is conducting intensive dialogue and consultations with the United Nations and relevant international bodies to resume Sudanese talks aimed at reaching a humanitarian ceasefire and a comprehensive cessation of hostilities in Sudan, according to a breaking news report by Al-Qahira News.

 

 

The League’s Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, affirmed that Arab and international efforts are moving in the right direction to find a swift solution to the Sudanese crisis, which is currently experiencing severe humanitarian conditions.

 

 

He noted that the League continues to coordinate with international humanitarian organizations to support efforts aimed at alleviating civilian suffering amid the ongoing conflict.

 

 

Aboul Gheit explained that the consultations aim to establish common ground among the conflicting Sudanese parties, enabling a temporary humanitarian ceasefire and the delivery of essential relief aid to affected civilians. He asserted the importance of halting hostilities as soon as possible to prevent further escalation.
