Dagalo-Led Attack on Al-Fashir Turns into Crushing Defeat for the Militia
The Armed Forces and allied groups foiled, on Monday, a large-scale attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Al-Fashir, led by the militia’s Second-in-Command, Abdelrahim Dagalo, in an attempt to breach the city’s defensive lines.
Field sources confirmed that the army destroyed five combat vehicles and two armored vehicles belonging to the militia during the clashes, forcing the remaining fighters to retreat after suffering heavy losses in personnel and equipment.
Local sources reported that the militia launched a violent offensive early in the morning on army positions in the northeastern and southwestern fronts, in addition to the eastern axis.
The RSF also carried out artillery shelling targeting army positions in Abu Shouk Al-Hilla, Al-Daraja Al-Oula, and Al-Fashir University neighborhoods, as well as the UNAMID headquarters west of the city.
Eyewitnesses stated that a strategic drone launched four missiles targeting the Sixth Infantry Division’s command, the vicinity of the Saudi Hospital, and positions near Al-Fashir Airport.
