Air and Artillery Strikes Target RSF Positions West of Al-Obeid

The Sudanese Army Air Force carried out a series of intensive air and artillery strikes on Tuesday morning targeting the positions of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in areas west of Al-Obeid city.

The raids focused on the northern, southern, and western parts of Al-Obeid, regions that have long hosted RSF deployments.

According to informed military sources, Sudanese warplanes conducted precise strikes this morning on Hafir Al-Jalabiya and Al-Ayyara areas west of Al-Obeid, resulting in casualties among RSF fighters and the destruction of several combat vehicles fully equipped with military gear.

The sources explained that the targeted force was preparing to launch an offensive toward Al-Obeid from the west, prompting the army to carry out preemptive strikes to thwart this move.

The same sources confirmed that the morning airstrikes covered several scattered locations west of Al-Obeid, forcing the RSF to reposition after withdrawing from Bara city.

They indicated that these strikes were part of a military plan aimed at undermining the militia’s capabilities and preventing it from reorganizing around Al-Obeid.

In a related development, the sources reported that heavy artillery from the Fifth Infantry Division participated in the military operations, targeting RSF gatherings in Al-Ayyara area west of Al-Obeid.

The artillery strikes destroyed more than twenty military vehicles loaded with equipment and resulted in at least thirty RSF fighters being killed or injured, according to initial estimates provided by the military sources.
