Minnawi’s SPLM-Faction Says Hemeidti Took Oath in Kauda, Not Nyala

Port Sudan – Sudanese Echoes

The spokesperson of the Sudan Liberation Movement (Minnawi faction), Al-Sadig Ali Nour, revealed that the commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Daglo “Hemeidti,” did not take the oath of office in Nyala as promoted, but rather in Kauda, South Kordofan, a historical stronghold of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement led by Abdel-Aziz Al-Hilu.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Mubasher, Al-Sadig Ali Nour said that the landmarks shown in the circulated video clips bear no resemblance to Nyala, stressing that he is a native of the city and knows its streets and entrances well.

He added that the oath ceremony was held under strict secrecy and tight security measures, without inviting any media outlets for coverage, which reinforces the assumption that the location was not Nyala as claimed.
