Child killed, refugees injured in a Sudanese refugee camp in Chad by gunmen

A child was killed and several refugees were injured in a Sudanese refugee camp in eastern Chad by gunmen.

Sources told Darfur 24 that gunmen raided the home of a Sudanese refugee inside Abu Tenge camp and attempted to ransack his belongings at gunpoint.

The sources indicated that the movements of neighbors prompted the gunmen to open fire, killing a child and wounding two others.

The sources stated that the perpetrators were able to flee the camp, and a criminal case has been filed against unknown individuals.

This incident came amid escalating plundering and security breaches in Abu Tenge camp, which has become increasingly unstable.
