Aggar: Presence of foreign mercenaries prevents peace realization in Sudan
Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Aggar, met today with Ambassador Nicholas Randin, Director of the Africa Department at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), accompanied by Catherine Weiss, Head of the Sudan Program, and Stephan Bombacher, SDC Financial Officer, in addition to the Swiss Envoy to the Horn of Africa, Sylvain Astier.
The meeting touched on the situation in Sudan, the current developments, and the efforts of the Sudanese government and its keenness to end the suffering of the Sudanese people.
TSC Vice President stressed, during the meeting, that the impediment hindering the realization of peace is the presence of foreign mercenaries fighting in the ranks of the rebel militia.
Commander Aggar informed Ambassador Nicholas of his dissatisfaction with the propaganda promoted by some organizations that there is a famine in Sudan, pointing out that this visit contributed to standing on the situation up close and not through reports that have always been written and reflecting to European officials facts that are far from reality.
