Gebreil Ibrahim: It is better to negotiate with UAE (elephant) instead of (shadow)

Interview:  Mohamed Al-Fatih –  Ahmed Omar Khojali

The head of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, said that he prefers that the Sudanese government negotiate with the the United Arab Emirates (UAE), considering it the elephant responsible for the war, instead of negotiating with (the shadow).

Gebreil confirmed, during an interview with (Sudanese Echoes), that there is no reason to (leave the elephant and stab its shadow) – as he put it – stressing the need to negotiate with the Emirates considering it an enemy of Sudan, explaining that we must negotiate with it to know why it is killing the Sudanese people and destroying their country and what they want to achieve from this aggression or from peace after they failed to reach it through war. He said that negotiating with the UAE must include handing over all the files that prove that it is behind the war, and after that comes the stage of paying compensation for reconstruction.

Meanwhile, Gebreil boasted about Al-Fashir’s steadfastness in the face of the militia’s aggression, attributing the secret of steadfastness to a group of elements, the most important of which is that the joint force is professional in fighting in the same manner as the militia.

He justified their entry into the war alongside the army, as armed movements, due to the threat of El-Fashir and the militia’s desire to declare its state from Darfur, and said, “We are not ready to accept secession and what happened to the south Sudan is enough.”, He added “El-Fashir is a major project to preserve the unity of the country and therefore everyone is prepared to defend El-Fashir to the death.”
