Why is the UAE targeting Sudan? … Sudan Foreign Minister clarifies

The Coral Hotel in Portsudan witnessed Monday a major media demonstration and an unprecedented press gathering, with the attendance of a group of international and local media outlets and media professionals, as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Information organized a press conference that addressed the aggressive positions of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which reached the point of accusing Sudan and its armed forces of shelling the residence of its ambassador in Khartoum. The conference refuted the UAE’s accusations through conclusive evidence and documents, which proved the aggression of the UAE and explained its motives for diffusing such lies.
Part One
The Monday’s event began with a comprehensive briefing accompanied by a more than one-hour video and satellite images attended by ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps present and representatives of a group of organizations and agencies in Portsudan. It is a chance through which the government sought to provide various countries with facts and evidence indicating that the UAE’s campaign of lies is part of its campaign against Sudan and its people, as it is also an attempt to escape responsibility for supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia.
Protecting Embassies
Foreign Minister Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali told reporters that the Sudanese government is obligated to protect all diplomatic missions under international law, adding that when the outlaw RSF militia’s aggression broke out, the government rushed to transfer members of the various embassies in Khartoum to the various crossings to facilitate their exit. He pointed out that the UAE mission was among those missions, and when it returned to Portsudan, the government provided it with the necessary protection despite its hostility to the government until the diplomatic staff left of their own free will and returned to their country.
If the reason is known!
The Foreign Minister expounded the UAE lies, by alleging the bombing of the ambassador’s house in Khartoum, as being due to annoyance after its matter was discovered through many newspapers and institutions, and criticism of its negative role in supporting the outlaw RSF militia, adding that a number of these entities whose reports proved its support for the militia; the report of the United Nations Expert Team, as well as the UAE’s support for the militia through the airports of Entebbe, Chad and Kenya. In addition to the construction of a hospital that made it a cover for its suspicious operations.
Minister of Foreign Affairs also reiterated the accusations issued by the International Committee of the Red Cross, which stated that the UAE was accused of exploiting the slogans of the International Committee to pass its support for the militia in its war against Sudan. He also referred to the Sudanese army seizing, upon its liberation and expelling the militia soldiers in many areas, several documents, licenses and papers proving the UAE’s involvement in supporting the militia.
Why the targeting Sudan?
As for the reason for this flagrant targeting of Sudan, the Minister said that the UAE seeks to control the country and its capabilities related to gold, ports and lands, in addition to influencing the paths of power and ruling.
Jeddah Platform
Concerning peaceful efforts, the Minister stressed the importance of adhering to the Jeddah platform and building on it and not responding to the UAE pursuance to start negotiations through another platform, accusing it of relying on its money to pressure to change the Jeddah platform, stressing that the government is committed to the peace that achieves the aspirations of the Sudanese people and their honor.
Interim Government
The Minister said that the armed forces are the institution that guarantees the homeland, announcing that the government will open its arms to the Sudanese people to enable them reach a roadmap for the next stage through a transitional government with a prime minister that includes all Sudanese parties, a government that leads them to the elections, stressing that the army is the guarantor for the support it finds.
Minister of Information
For his part, Minister of Culture and Information Graham Abdel-Gadir detailed, by pictures and videos, the lie of the accusation of bombing the ambassador’s house, displaying satellite images that showed that the ambassador’s house is as it was and was not subjected to aggression, plundering or vandalism. He said that the militia elements remained in the house adjacent to the ambassador’s house in Al-Ragee neighborhood of Khartoum, meaning that they control the areas.
