Egyptian and Sudanese parliamentarians, officials and media professionals downplayed the accusations made by the commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia (Hemedti) against Egypt regarding the Egyptian air force bombing his forces, stressing that Hemedti’s talk is (cheap propaganda) and false allegations and an attempt to justify the vanquishment of his forces by the Sudanese Armed Forces.
Egyptian parliamentarian Mustafa Bakri told (Sudanese Echoes) that Hemedti’s accusations against Egypt are not based on evidence or facts and are an attempt to justify his vanquishment by the Sudanese army, adding that Hemedti is seeking to hang his lies on Egypt to instigate the international community against Egypt.
For his part, former Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister Salah Halima described Hemedti’s talk as the talk of the defeated.
Meanwhlie, the Editor-in-Chief of Rose Al-Youssef newspaper and portal, Ayman Abdel-Majeed, said that the militia leader seeks to justify his successive defeats with false claims, adding: “Egyptian intervention in the Sudanese crisis is always positive.”
In turn, the Egyptian journalist Sabah denied Hemedti’s statement and said that Egypt did not intervene militarily in Sudan because if it wanted to intervene, it would have done so since the first months of the war, even though the war in Sudan threatens Egyptian national security.
In the same context, the Sudanese media expert and political analyst Al-Nour Ahmed Al-Nour expected that Hemedti’s accusation against Egypt would backfire on him. Al-Nour confirmed that Hemedti had tried to win over Egypt since he was Al-Burhan’s Deputy, but Cairo had a clear position on the militias, not only in Sudan but in the region.
