Minawi: The Fall of El-Fashir Will Lead to Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing of Non-Arab tribes

The governor of Darfur and Head of the Sudan Liberation Army/ Movement (SLA/M), Minni Arko Minawi, warned that the fall of all of Darfur into the hands of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) will lead to genocide and comprehensive ethnic cleansing of non-Arab tribes, worse than what happened in Rwanda.

In an inclusive interview with Al Jazeera Net, Minawi described the fall of some Darfur states as a national insult and a disgrace to the state, and the army commandership should be asked about it, not the governor of Darfur Region. However, at the same time, he confirmed the failure of the project to seize Sudan in favor of what he called the ethnic “scatter” of the African diaspora.

Minawi said that some Arab countries view Africa and its people as mere herds, and the land is theirs.
Minawi pointed out that Chad’s relationship with the people of Darfur is eternal, describing what is happening now by the Chadian government as just a passing cloud that will not last more.
