600 Women and Children Held in Secret Detention Facility in Nyala

Three aligned sources in South Darfur State revealed on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has released several women held at the “Koreya” prison detention facility.

A police source at the prison, speaking to Darfur24 on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that more than 27 female detainees from various cities and states were released last Thursday. The source noted that a designated committee has begun reviewing the cases of the detainees, examining the files of several women, including minors and others accused of espionage and collaboration with the Sudanese Army.

Meanwhile, a female police officer in South Darfur, who also requested anonymity, stated that the militia forced the released women to take an oath promising not to speak about the detention center or the dire conditions inside. They were strictly ordered to remain silent following their release, with threats of being re-detained if any information was leaked.
