21 Killed and Injured in Hand Grenade Explosion in East Darfur
One child was killed and 20 others were injured when a hand grenade exploded at Assalaya Market in East Darfur State, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses told Darfur24 that a dispute erupted between two young men at the site of a night café inside the market, after which one of them detonated a hand grenade amid a gathering of civilians at the scene.
They said the blast killed a 13-year-old child instantly and injured 20 others, who were transferred to Al-Daein Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Security sources attributed the incident to the widespread circulation of hand grenades among youths, as well as the presence of fighters returning from combat fronts in the area.
