14 Killed, Including 5 Children, in Shelling of Al-Dalang
The Sudan Doctors Network announced that 14 people, including five children and two women, were killed and 23 others injured — among them seven children — in shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM-al-Hilu faction on the city of Al-Dalang.
In a statement, the network said the attacks targeted civilian residential areas, resulting in the high number of casualties amid extremely complex humanitarian and medical conditions and a shortage of medical personnel.
It added that the city has been subjected to intense shelling for the second consecutive day, alongside attacks on its outskirts, exacerbating human losses and deepening civilian suffering. The city had only recently emerged from a siege that lasted more than two years.
The network strongly condemned the dangerous escalation and the systematic targeting of civilians, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law.
It called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to halt these violations and provide immediate protection to civilians.
The network held the militia leadership and the SPLM-Al-Hilu faction fully responsible for these crimes and ongoing violations, calling for accountability under international law to prevent their recurrence.
